I can’t say enough about how delicious a warm-weather holiday can be to shake off the effects of a long cold winter, if only even temporarily. This trip to the Mayan Riviera, along Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, was going to be my first sighting of the beautiful and warm Caribbean sea. It was also going to be a great chance to catch up with friends we hadn’t seen in a couple of years.
As you can see, my attentions were divided between “big picture” and “little picture” details. It was without question a delightful retreat and a necessary diversion, but sadly everyone eventually has to go home again.
